Learn more about how family physicians are building resilience and addressing long-term healthcare challenges with innovative responses to COVID-19.
In 2022, Co-RIG Phase II funding was awarded to 12 family medicine teams whose projects are focused on addressing the ongoing effects of the pandemic and preparing primary care for future health challenges. Selected from 89 proposals, these initiatives aim to create sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery by advancing innovations, expanding access, and enhancing community resilience.
Working over a period of 12 to 18 months, the Phase II teams are addressing critical needs, including long-term support for mental health in long-term care, Indigenous-led partnerships for mental health equity, and vaccine navigation for newcomers and refugees. Each project highlights the vital role of family medicine in building a more resilient healthcare system for all Canadians.
Collectively, Co-RIG Phase II projects are driving forward advancements in health equity, strengthening healthcare integration, and empowering family physicians to innovate for a healthier, more prepared future. Through these contributions, the Co-RIG program continues to support and advance family medicine across Canada.
