Trailblazers: the shoulders on which others will stand.
Over the years, the FAFM has celebrated excellence in family medicine by bestowing awards and honours to family medicine leaders. A new initiative, the elite donor community called Trailblazers, aims to harness the wisdom and leadership qualities of our major honors and awards recipients and those who have served at the helm of family medicine in Canada, to guide and support initiatives designed to expand opportunities for new generations of family physicians.
The challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the need for support and inspiration like never before, especially for new family physicians.
With the guidance of the FAFM’s Trailblazers champion, Dr. Reg L. Perkin, the Trailblazers initiative aims to fill this need.
Trailblazers are individually invited to join this philanthropic community and to advise on and support opportunities designed to advance training or knowledge creation for young generations of family physicians in innovative areas of family medicine.
