Family Medicine Resident Awards for Scholarly Achievement
The Family Medicine Resident Awards for Scholarly Achievement recognize outstanding academic accomplishments by family medicine residents. These awards are intended to stimulate family medicine research and innovation in education. One recipient or team from each faculty of family medicine across Canada will be selected.
Eligibility criteria:
Family medicine residents in their first, second, or third year of training are eligible.
Nominees cannot have received this award in the past three years.

Nomination process:
Please refer to the Nomination Guidelines for requirements. Nominations must be submitted online.
The deadline for nomination from each university is 4:00 p.m. (ET) by June 12, 2026.
Only one nomination per university will be accepted.
Selection process:
The chair, postgraduate directors, and research directors from each Canadian family medicine residency program are asked to identify the best scholarly work by a resident in their department, using the department’s own criteria. Their nominee will become their school’s recipient of a Family Medicine Resident Award for Scholarly Achievement. Only one nomination per university will be accepted.
The Honours and Awards Committee will approve the nominations for these awards and inform the recipients in August.
