About Honours and Awards
The Honours and Awards Program offers grants, scholarships, and awards, which recognize and support family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students committed to education, research, and excellence in the practice of family medicine.
The Program celebrates members’ achievements and outstanding work through funding for scholarships and grants and promotes their successes. The Foundation for Advancing Family Medicine (FAFM) provides funding for the Program, which offers a diverse list of awards, grants, and scholarships, from continuing professional development grants to project development and support awards. This funding allows the Program to support the doctors of today and tomorrow in their pursuit of advancing primary care for all Canadians.
As part of the CFPC’s commitment to evaluating its programs and initiatives, the College and the FAFM have conducted a review of the H&A Program. After careful consideration, we have streamlined the 2025 program, ensuring it remains financially sustainable, relevant, and valuable to members. We continue to celebrate leadership, innovation, and excellence in family medicine, offering recognition and financial support to help foster growth and empowerment.
